Haven’t been updating the site regularly but focusing on some other priorities in order to make the trip happen lately.
Some highlights include being able to find “Bicycle Touring International” in a Bellingham, Washington used book store for $7, a wealth of information on the touring aspect, and various countries, along with great stats on weather and wind patterns!
Also took the undertaking to order some supplies from Mountain Equipment Co-Op. Most notably some shorts and some small tools. I desperately need to find a bicycle maintenance course… I also desperately need to start riding my bike! I will try on Thursday providing the weather is good to get a good 30km ride in as it has been some time!
Along with this, I’ve come to sort of an agreement in my mind, that leaving for San Francisco in May of 2009 is far too early, and I should be focusing on this trip in August or September of 2009. This will allow me to shake out the bugs out of my equipment, and also could work out really well by allowing me to visit the Burning Man Festival for one last time, something I haven’t visited since 2005. The theme being evolution captivates me dearly, and fits in with my life direction right now.
