Listening to the sounds of nature while bike riding has its benefits – birds chirping, sounds of wild animals making their way through bushes, snippets of conversations from people sitting on their front porch. Then there is the road traffic from loud semi trucks, noise bleeds from the various car stereos whizzing past you, the sound of your tires, and finally the sounds inside your head. Riding in silence is beneficial, as it allows one to enter into deep thought sorting out concept and fresh ideas, getting past hurdles where [read more]

Who knew getting to New Orleans was going to be such an ordeal for me – I did it however, with the assistance of new friends but jeesh – am I ever wiped. I fully intended on checking out parts of the city, not just the French Quarter but it seems that I’ve been more interested in resting my butt on a couch in a climate controlled room and dozing off every few hours only to start the process all over again after rehydrating. It’s been absolutely crazy since I [read more]

The Path of Destruction

I’m sure you’ve heard about the strange weather happenings around the world as of late, and surely you’ve been either had snow in an area that normally doesn’t receive it or excess rain. I’ve realized that I’m very close to some of these happenings and to tell you the truth I’m heartbroken. Ashamed of my Hometown

I struggled to get to sleep last night, perhaps still trying to rework my body into a riding sleep schedule after the late nights at the Bonnaroo festival. Finally at 2am Central Time I pulled out the Amazon Kindle to see who won the Hockey Game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins. It was the final game in the series, winner taking the Stanley Cup. Vancouver has  yet to win a cup in 40 years of playing hockey, yet has been to this stage 3 times before. I [read more]

Getting Festive

What a whirlwind past few days, so many people, so many events, and so many memories. I must have met close to 500 people in the past 6 days where I’ve shared actual conversations with and a couple other thousand more hello’s and salutations along the way. Yup – I was in festival mode, sweaty, dirty, dusty, sleep deprived, with a voice rapidly losing its power. I’m now out of it and enroute down south to New Orleans, with a hope that I can make it for June 21 – [read more]

Southern Comfortable

It’s been a pricey week on the road – all sorts of equipment failures/losses over the past little bit starting to eat away at the savings for this trip to keep me going. I’ve got a huge set of orders waiting for me in Alabama, so it’ll be a bit like Christmas in June, but will be eating pork and beans for the next few weeks to offset the financial loss to make sure my budget stays on track. The speaker never managed to show up in the next town [read more]
