So this is it, the end of my North American tour, In a little over 4 months I traveled from one end of the United States, to the Bottom, and back up stopping here in beautiful Black Rock City, Nevada. I’m meeting some friends here who are going to get me a lift back up to Vancouver so I can properly prepare for the next phase of my journey, attend and participate in a wedding of 2 fabulous people, and maybe get some work while I’m at it to recover [read more]
Each week on Sunday I showcase a picture that I’ve taken throughout my travels that I absolutely love I absolutely love, and I hope you do too! Date Taken – 2010-05-18 Location – Outside of Kelowna, BC, Canada I was struggling after a few days of rain, wild hills and leaking rain gear, scowling at people as I passed them on the road and still wondering why people wouldn’t approach me. It was rapidly becoming dark and I had to find a place to camp and cook some dinner [read more]
I stayed longer than I expected in Eureka, taking the time to recharge myself for the final stretch of hills and heat heading into Fallon. It helped, I managed to get my body back in shape over the course of 5 days while at the same time working on a few projects and meeting a handful of cyclists who passed through daily. At about 5pm I’d make it out of the coffee shop or where I was at to go peek around the corner to see who was at the [read more]
I’m halfway into the state of Nevada already with plenty of time to reach my destination of Gerlach before August 29th. In fact I’m only about 470km away – easy riding. Hello from Eureka, more about this place a bit later though. I’ve been riding on what is known as the ‘Loneliest Highway in the USA’ – Route 50, also part of the Lincoln Highway which at one point stretched from end to end of this country. Route 50 has changed along the lines, but it does a great job [read more]

I’m pleased to report that I just hit the 25,000km mark on my odometer since setting forth on this journey – It’s an awful long distance to have travelled, and it seems I have a story per kilometre to tell about it, many things that I haven’t posted about are still fresh in my memory and are shared with random strangers, hosts, and friends along the way. I’m still very much interested in continuing and while I’m not entirely interested about setting a record on distance, length, going off the [read more]

I’m on my third tent of my expedition, a necessary requirement for cycling around the world being able to have the flexibility to stop wherever one wants due to exhaustion, or pure curiosity. It also saves an awful lot of money on the pocketbook as hotels and hostels can be quite expensive for luxuries such as a roof, and a door for the bathroom, that is if you are in an area where you can find any of these amenities. I’ve cycled for days on end without seeing people or [read more]
