Coast to Coast to Coast

OK OK, enough of the automated Picture of the Week posts, I’ll post a little update to what I’ve been up to for the past little bit. It’s been a whirlwind of a month already and doesn’t seem to have any reason to start slowing down, as the countdown is on, October 17 comes quick!   I had a great time in New York City with new friends exploring areas of the city that I’ve never been able to see, getting a grand tour of the city from a local [read more]

The adventure continues..

Who would have thought that even though I didn’t make it into the Live@YVR finals that I wouldn’t get a chance to live inside of an airport for an extended period of time? I’m writing this from Milwaukee, Wisconsin where I have been for the past 8 hours waiting for another plane to connect me to my destination, New York City – for the third time of 2011, making it a trifecta of unintentional Big Apple Visits. Running on no more than 4 hours of sleep in the past 48 [read more]

Playa Bound

So this is it, the end of my North American tour, In a little over 4 months I traveled from one end of the United States, to the Bottom, and back up stopping here in beautiful Black Rock City, Nevada. I’m meeting some friends here who are going to get me a lift back up to Vancouver so I can properly prepare for the next phase of my journey, attend and participate in a wedding of 2 fabulous people, and maybe get some work while I’m at it to recover [read more]

So close I can taste the dust..

I stayed longer than I expected in Eureka, taking the time to recharge myself for the final stretch of hills and heat heading into Fallon. It helped, I managed to get my body back in shape over the course of 5 days while at the same time working on a few projects and meeting a handful of cyclists who passed through daily. At about 5pm I’d make it out of the coffee shop or where I was at to go peek around the corner to see who was at the [read more]

Lonely Roads

I’m halfway into the state of Nevada already with plenty of time to reach my destination of Gerlach before August 29th. In fact I’m only about 470km away – easy riding. Hello from Eureka, more about this place a bit later though. I’ve been riding on what is known as the ‘Loneliest Highway in the USA’ – Route 50, also part of the Lincoln Highway which at one point stretched from end to end of this country. Route 50 has changed along the lines, but it does a great job [read more]

Milestones in Moab

I’m pleased to report that I just hit the 25,000km mark on my odometer since setting forth on this journey – It’s an awful long distance to have travelled, and it seems I have a story per kilometre to tell about it, many things that I haven’t posted about are still fresh in my memory and are shared with random strangers, hosts, and friends along the way. I’m still very much interested in continuing and while I’m not entirely interested about setting a record on distance, length, going off the [read more]
