Take care when removing the rear cog of the Rohloff! It's really really tight and if you turn it the wrong direction you could end up like this fella(Section "Sprocket and chain" in the lower section of the article): http://www.thebigafricacycle.com/general-posts/talking-gear

I myself couldn't get mine of with a wrench but had to clamp the Rohloff-tool in a bench vice and use the whole wheel as a lever to get it off.

Unreal how far you've come, Dave. In regards to your phone/mp3 player, I've had just about every generation of iPhone. Here are a few unsolicited common tips to save battery life, if you haven't already made the changes: Turn off WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, Data Push, and Location Services. All are severe battery drains. Perhaps most important is the multi-tasking bar for the iPhone 4; it drains the battery exponentially. Double click your home button, and if you see an array of items available, that means your iPhone is storing them in a pseudo-cache memory for future use (I don't care what they say about closed/suspended/background apps). Press down and hold on one of the icons until they wiggle, then delete them from the multitasking bar. It's good to do this on a regular basis. I experienced the substantial battery drain before figuring out the multitask problems, and have had none since doing a bit of cleanup. Good luck, let me know if this tip helps.
