Haven’t been updating the site regularly but focusing on some other priorities in order to make the trip happen lately. Some highlights include being able to find “Bicycle Touring International” in a Bellingham, Washington used book store for $7, a wealth of information on the touring aspect, and various countries, along with great stats on weather and wind patterns! Also took the undertaking to order some supplies from Mountain Equipment Co-Op. Well, that didn’t take long! It turns out my Ortlieb Handlebar Bag is actually too small for my Rebel XSI! Time to order the large!


 

Managed to pick up the panniers and my Handlebar bag today from these guys while at the same time getting a super great deal on a waterproof jacket for the low price of $50 for their new years sale! The weather outside is frightful, and I’m chomping at the bit to get outside and start riding again. Have been filling out the equipment section of this site a bit, eventually once each of the pieces are used I will write a detailed review on it. I decided I will take my SLR camera with me, even though it is bigger, it is a wonderful camera, and I have barely used it. I nearly lost it in the past couple of weeks, and am glad to have it back. This is the first post to the site, and I’m sure it is going to grow over the years, but I have to start somewhere. So tonight, my good friend Mijo (we call him Training Wheels/T-Dub) mapped out the first leg of my trip. We can call this the Training Wheel run.
