Find out what’s going on in my head?

Jasper, AB T0E, Canada

A few weeks ago when I was in Yellowknife, NWT I had the opportunity to blab into a microphone and camera for 25 minutes for YKOnline.ca – a smaller local news portal for the city residents. I chose this method as opposed to the local paper, or the bigger news stations for overall creativity (meaning, that the majority of the interview doesn’t get cut from me going left field!), and the fact I like to support smaller operations. The interview came out pretty good, and you can see the original article here.

I’m sure most of us, at one point or another, get tired of our jobs. We don’t enjoy it anymore, it makes us miserable,

I Made it!

Day 29 – Straight into Compton..

Compton, CA, USA

Wow – what a mess, 2nd wrong turn of the day and I had to climb a HUGE 1300+ ft hill which overlooked all of LA. The descent was a bit hairy down Crenshaw Blvd. with the traffic and bad roads, but I’m living and breathing in Compton, California, trying to figure out HOW to escape LA. I have 2.5 hours of light left and my GPS is burning out, so am sitting at a coffee shop hoping for a quick charge. I have 35 -40 miles to go before teh end of my day – this is going to be tough, and I’m beginning to doubt that I will reach the border by tommorrow as I am getting completely…

Day 22 – More off course oddities

Monterey, CA, USA

Talk about a real bizarro day for riding. Up at 7:45 and freezing due to the lack of pants issue, I dealt with the packing of my area. I’ve got it down to less than 15 minutes now to have all 4 panniers filled, mounted, rack pack secured, and ready to go. I typically deal with eating afterwords. Without the stove, I’ve had to modify things, as usually I’d fire up the stove to boil some water for my useless coffee maker to work.

I met a few more people in our area last night, and heard of a story of one cyclists bike being stolen out of a garage in San Francisco. What a bummer…

Day 20 – I left *nothing* in San Francisco

Half Moon Bay, CA, USA

Daily Distance 60km
Total Distance: 2046km

After last nights hotel stay, I awoke at 9 to jackhammers, honking, and all sorts of traffic – remember, the city, what goes on with normal lives? I mucked around on the internet for a bit, and continued to try to upload some photos. I stayed up quite late until 2am, chatting with people, organizing, yet forgetting to grab a copy of a website that I wanted to read through on bicycle maintenance as I need to get some more skills up to speed.

After I loaded my panniers up with complimentary soap, and coffee I headed out at about 11, 3 blocks away to climb a super steep hill to get to…
